What's Josh Doing?

I spoke with Josh (via email, of course), and he is doing well. He had his top wisdom teeth pulled Saturday. Here's what he had to say about the event: "u can imagine the dentists on the ship arent that worried about being gentle or anything, felt like they went in my mouth with pliars, grabbed the tooth and just yanked on it till it came out lol."

They are scheduled to port soon, which is a good thing. I think they have been out to sea for over 80 days. That's a long time to not set foot on land.

Hopefully the USS Boxer will be back in the states sometime in August.

Josh is Fighting the Pirates!

Josh has been very busy on the USS Boxer. They are currently in the Gulf of Aden, fighting pirates. Never thought I'd be saying that!

He is able to email, as along as they are not in River City 1 status, which means they are not allowed to communicate off the ship.

Here are a couple of things Josh emailed me regarding the anti-piracy effort that is going on.

"yea the pirate stuff is really exciting, its fun seein us all over the news, i cant wait to tell u about it, the news doesnt really tell much of how everything happend and there not exactly accurate about everthing but of course im not allowed to talk about it on here so ill have to wait to tell u guys about it later." "its been crazy around here lately, im back up on the flight deck, doin my real job, cant remember if i told u that or not, and i came at the craziest time lol. cant talk about it but im sure uve seen alot of it on the news, been very exciting tho, jus REALLY long hours. April 13, 2009"

The Rapture

At our church on Sunday nights, we are doing a Bible study entitled: What in the World is Going on? by Dr. David Jeremiah. What a fantastic study! All Christians should be aware of how current events are completely in line with scripture prophecy.

This week's study was on the Rapture...something we Christians hope will happen prior to the tribulation. Something that always puzzled me was cleared up during this session. The Rapture is NOT the second coming of Christ. It is its own event, that will happen sometime prior to the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 4:13 - 17).

Today when I was driving home from work I was truly thinking about what it is going to be like when Jesus comes to take us home with him. Non-believers won't see Him...and they won't see us ascending with Him. But we will see each other. How unbelievable that's going to be. I imagined hearing the trumpet, and the sound of the angels, and seeing His glory....I absolutely can't wait.

God doesn't want us to be caught unaware....please study His word...

Family Night

Karlie colored Josh a picture! We are having family night tonight and we miss you!!!
